How do I create an account?
Download vPlan AR from the App Store, open the app, and tap "Create Account" on the welcome screen, or sign up at vplan.ai. Enter your name, email address, and a password; you can start scanning and drawing straight away. We also email you a link to confirm the address is yours: open it before your first export or share link (the web editor asks for it then, and can send the link again). Accounts that sign in with Apple or Google, or join a team from an invitation, are already confirmed.
How do I start my first scan?
After logging in, tap the "Scan" tab (camera icon) in the bottom navigation bar. If prompted, grant camera and LiDAR permissions. Tap "Start Scan", then slowly walk through the room pointing your device at walls, floors, and ceilings. The AR overlay will guide you. When you're done, tap "Finish Scan" to generate your floor plan.
What devices are supported?
LiDAR scanning requires an iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, or any newer Pro/Pro Max model running iOS 16 or later. iPad Pro models with LiDAR (2020 and later) are also supported. On all other devices, you can still use the manual drawing tools in the web editor.
How do I install vPlan AR on my iPhone?
Open the App Store on your iPhone, search for "vPlan AR", and tap "Get". The app requires iOS 16.0 or later. After installation, tap the icon to launch it. If your device supports LiDAR, the scanning feature is automatically enabled — no extra configuration needed.
Can I use vPlan AR without a LiDAR device?
Yes. You can use the web-based floor plan editor at vplan.ai to draw and edit floor plans manually using our drawing tools. On iPhones without LiDAR, a guided manual-entry fallback is shown instead of the AR scanner.
