vPlan AR for iPhone and iPad Is Now Live on the App Store

After months of testing on real job sites, vPlan AR is officially available on the iOS App Store. LiDAR room scanning, multi-level capture, and one-tap export — straight from your iPhone.

Today we're shipping the moment we've been building toward: vPlan AR for iPhone and iPad is now available on the Apple App Store. Download it free, point your iPhone at a room, and watch a measured floor plan appear in real time.

If you've followed along through our beta, you already know what makes this app different from every other floor plan tool: it doesn't ask you to draw anything. The walls, doorways, and dimensions come from your iPhone's LiDAR sensor — and they're accurate enough to estimate from, not just visualize.

What's Available Today

The 1.0 release is built around the workflow our professional users asked for: walk the room, finish the scan, export. The LiDAR scanner detects walls, corners, doors, and windows automatically, and the live AR overlay shows you exactly what's been captured as you move through the space.

Multi-room and multi-level scans are supported out of the gate. Whole houses, multi-story commercial buildings, and connected suites all flow into a single project. Once your scan is complete, the on-device 2D editor lets you correct labels, adjust dimensions, and prepare the plan for export.

Free downloads include two projects per month and PDF export with a watermark. Pro and Business subscriptions unlock unlimited projects, DXF/OBJ/XML exports, cloud sync, and team collaboration — and they manage cleanly through the App Store like any other iOS subscription.

How It Works on iPhone

vPlan AR uses Apple's RoomPlan framework on top of the LiDAR sensor available on iPhone 12 Pro and later (and iPad Pro from 2020 onward). Open the app, tap Scan, and slowly pan around the room. The app draws walls in real time, snaps corners, and recognizes doorways and windows. When you're satisfied, tap Finish — processing typically takes 10–30 seconds.

Don't have LiDAR on your phone? The manual editor still works on any iPhone running iOS 16 or later. You can sketch a plan from scratch or open one of your existing scans for cleanup.

Built for Professionals

vPlan AR was designed for the people who measure rooms for a living: general contractors, insurance adjusters, real estate agents, architects, designers, and restoration crews. Every decision in the app — from the export formats we support to the way multi-level projects are organized — comes out of how this work actually gets done on a job site.

That focus shows up in the exports. PDF for client deliverables and permits. DXF for CAD-driven trades. OBJ for 3D visualization. XML for structured floor plan data and downstream integrations. One scan, every format you need.

One Account, Mobile and Web

Scans you capture on iPhone sync to your vPlan AR account and open instantly in the web editor at vplan.ai. The web app gives you a larger canvas, precise drawing tools, and the same export options. The mobile app is built for capture; the web app is built for refinement and delivery. Together they cover every step from site visit to final file.

Cloud sync is part of every paid plan. If you start a scan on iPhone in the field, you can finish the markup on a laptop at the office — no manual transfer, no version mismatch.

Get Started

Download vPlan AR free from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. Sign in with your existing vPlan AR account if you already have one on the web — your projects will be waiting for you on the first launch.

We're already deep into the next set of features: smarter wall thickness inference, on-device 3D walkthroughs, and an Android beta. But shipping the iOS app today is the milestone we wanted to share first. Thank you to every beta tester who scanned, broke, and re-scanned with us along the way — your floor plans helped build this one.
